FPGA Engineer – Low Latency | Gandhinagar, Gujarat
About the Role
Looking for an experienced FPGA Engineer to join a High-Frequency Trading (HFT) firm. In this role, you will design and optimize ultra-low-latency FPGA solutions that power the trading infrastructure. You will work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and software engineers to develop high-performance systems where every nanosecond matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize FPGA-based solutions for ultra-low-latency trading systems.
- Implement market data feed handlers, order gateways, and hardware acceleration modules.
- Develop and optimize RTL designs using Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL.
- Perform timing closure, resource optimization, and latency analysis.
- Integrate FPGA solutions with software and networking infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance trading performance and system reliability.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of FPGA development experience, preferably within HFT, electronic trading, networking, or high-performance computing.
- Strong proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Experience with Xilinx or Intel (Altera) FPGA platforms and development tools.
- Good understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP multicast, and market data protocols.
- Experience with PCIe, DMA, and high-speed interfaces.
- Knowledge of timing analysis, pipelining, and hardware optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with Linux development environments, Git, and scripting (Python or Bash).
Preferred Skills
- Experience building low-latency trading infrastructure.
- Knowledge of exchange connectivity, FIX protocol, and market data feeds.
- Experience with C/C++ for hardware-software integration.
- Understanding of financial markets, algorithmic trading, or quantitative systems.
