Position: Senior Associate – Credit Risk Modelling (IFRS 9, Stress Testing, IRB)

About the Role:
We are expanding our risk modelling team in Mumbai to support leading UK banks. As a Senior Associate, you will work with specialists to strengthen credit risk modelling, validation, and stress testing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and audit IFRS 9 credit risk models, ensuring compliance and replicating ECL models.
- Support development and attestation of IRB capital models aligned to evolving regulations.
- Conduct model validation (IFRS 9, IRB, Market Risk, Algorithmic models) with quantitative testing in SAS/R/Python/SQL.
- Develop and execute stress testing frameworks for adverse conditions.
- Advise clients on next-generation IFRS 9 models and engage with stakeholders across risk and modelling teams.
Essential Experience & Skills
- 3–4 years in credit risk modelling/validation.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk regulations (IFRS 9, SR 11-7, CP 10/25).
- Proficiency in SAS/SQL/R/Python.
- Experience with retail/wholesale portfolio models.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach; willingness to travel.
Desirable
- Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) or relevant professional qualification.
- Experience in IFRS 9 secured/unsecured portfolio modelling with forward-looking scenarios.
- Familiarity with CRR, PRA, EBA, Basel regulatory updates (e.g., Definition of Default, Hybrid PD).
