Network Engineer
Our client is a leading algo-trading firm operating in High Frequency and Medium Frequency Trading (HFT/MFT). As part of their technology expansion, they are strengthening their core network infrastructure and are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support their low-latency, high-availability trading environment.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a mission-critical setup where network performance and reliability directly impact trading outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and support high-availability network infrastructure across trading and corporate environments
- Ensure reliable, low-latency connectivity with exchanges, co-location facilities, and inter-office networks
- Configure and maintain L2/L3 networking, routing, switching, and multicast for market data distribution
- Provide production support and troubleshoot complex network issues in live trading environments
- Manage exchange connectivity, telecom vendors, and data center/co-location operations
- Monitor network performance and participate in incident response and root cause analysis
- Contribute to automation, upgrades, capacity planning, and continuous infrastructure improvements
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network support roles
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing & switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and network security
- Experience with Cisco and/or Arista routers and switches
- Knowledge of multicast networking (PIM, IGMP)
- Exposure to high-availability or trading/financial services environments preferred
- Basic Linux systems knowledge (Ubuntu/CentOS)
- Familiarity with network automation using Python or Shell scripting
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive environments
